WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Community Facility Planners, Leisure and Recreation Planners, Community Development and Place Makers etc.
When it comes to planning community facilities, there doesn't appear to be an industry accepted set of industry definitions in relation developing documentation and drawings. For example, how does a concept design differ from a schematic design? Is it the same for buildings and open space? What forms a master plan? These definitions are likely to differ between organisations, vary between business units and may even be debated between team members. This makes it difficult to effectively communicate what you are expecting when developing documentation and drawings for community facilities.
Using your experiences and examples from your workplace, the aim of the workshop is to gain an appreciation for the various definitions that are being used within our industry, to develop a set of industry standard definitions. Participants will be asked to bring in their own examples, which will be used during the workshop. The more you bring in the better!
