Event Summary

With the world quickly approaching a catastrophic temperature increase, now is the time to make real and substantial changes to carbon emissions. For the parks and leisure industry, one of the biggest contributions to carbon emissions is the production of materials we use in our sites. Tackling these large emissions at the source and facilitating important conversations with the next generation about sustainability is the key to creating positive environmental change in the work that we do.

PLA (SA) and KOMPAN Australia proudly present our Spring 2022 Industry Forum & Technical Site Tour on how we can reduce carbon emissions when building our parks and leisure facilities, learning from current research, and understanding the importance of sustainable practices and materials in our planning of outdoor activity spaces.

Join us for a morning at Mitcham Memorial Library as we explore why it is important to think sustainably when ideating and procuring for outdoor activity spaces and how councils, schools and developers can create eco-friendly play spaces that still deliver quality play value.
