Then make sure you don't miss this must attend event on how a Green Adelaide can be achieved.

Parks and Leisure Australia (SA/NT), are pleased to host a one day seminar that will explain South Australia's 'Green Adelaide' approach to achieving quality green spaces, along with the concept of Adelaide as a National Park City.

The event will be opened by the Minister for Environment and Water, Hon David Spiers MP, with Guest Speakers including the following:

Dr Felicity Ann Lewis - Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board, achievements and future directions.

Brenton Grear, Director Green Adelaide - background to Green Adelaide and detail on the new legislation, with a focus on the greening, cooling, people connectedness and an indication of initial key projects of the Board.

Professor Chris Daniels, Cleland Conservation Park - Achieving and managing native fauna and flora in urban areas, landscape and open space considerations.

Carmel Williams, Health SA and Ben Willsmore AILA, - Creating greener places for healthy and sustainable communities: ideas for quality green public space in South Australia.

Chris Lawry and David Cooney, Mount Barker District Council -"Street trees - how to ensure more bang for your buck. Choosing the most appropriate species, getting healthy nursery stock and correct planting and maintenance will ensure that you get the best trees you can."

Pam Gurner-Hall, Landscape Designer and educator - encouraging communities to create green gardens, achieving greener higher density spaces, potential 'simple messages' and motivations.

Mellissa Bradley, Water Sensitive SA - Creating greener, sustainable urban spaces through integrated design and smart water management.

There will also be an interactive workshop session to discuss the key messages and specific opportunities for achieving a greener Adelaide.

This event is supported by the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board, the Department of Environment and Water, Green Adelaide, the City of Campbelltown and U City.
