Agreement on community season crossover plans for outdoor sports

A group of sports that utilise active reserves managed by local governments have collaborated to support the unique challenges that the crossover from winter to summer season sport will present in 2020.

Several winter sports are likely to run later than usual this year after a disrupted start to the season, and discussions between the sports see a clear path with local governments to help Western Australians enjoy their respective seasons as sports re-activate.

The initiative lead by Jo Davies and her WACA team applies to grassroot level competitions playing on outdoor green space and includes WAFC, Rugby WA, NRL WA, Football West, Softball WA, Baseball WA, Hockey WA, TBA WA , Touch Football WA, WACA and is supported by SportWest and MARAG.
