Call to Arms - bushfire recovery

The East Gippsland Shire has requested assistance following the recent devastating bushfires.
If you are in a position to assist, and your organisation is supportive, please contact Fiona Weigall, General Manager Assets and Environment, East Gippsland Shire (FionaW@egipps.vic.gov.au).

Areas of assistance required are:

Grant Writing

SRV has given the Shire an extension on some of their applications, however the timelines for lodgement of formal applications are looming. This task would be driven by tight timelines.

The commitment would most likely include:
- 2 days in East Gippsland to be briefed on the project, visit the site/facility, and undertake some consultation with relevant groups (if required).
- 2 days to prepare a draft funding application (concept plans to be prepared by others)
- East Gippsland Shire staff to review and fine-tune the application

Draft Policy Writing

Whilst this isn't directly fire recovery policy it will create capacity within the East Gippsland Shire team to focus on recovery activities.

The commitment would most likely include:
- 1 day in East Gippsland to be briefed and provided with an overview of the policy area
- 2 days to prepare a draft policy
- East Gippsland Shire staff to review and fine-tune the policy

Development of Concept Landscape Designs

Most of the required design concepts will be around open space planning.

The commitment would most likely include:
- 1-2 days in East Gippsland to be briefed on the project, visit the site/facility, and undertake some consultation (if required).
- time to develop the draft design concepts
