Our presenter, Catherine Ryland from CR Bushfire will look at how we can green our cities and regions without increasing bushfire risk plus examining the new bushfire legislation and implications for public open space planning.

Catherine is an urban planner and bushfire resilience expert with almost 20 years' of diversified industry experience in the UK and Australia.

As the lead reviewer of Planning for Bushfire Protection 2019 and its associated legislation, Catherine has extensive knowledge of land use planning policy and how this can be optimised to achieve better bushfire protection outcomes. Based in Sydney, Catherine is a leader in the preparation of policy and strategy relating to natural hazards.
