PLA act as witness's at the senate hearing into the Federal sports grants. President Paul Jane, CEO Mark Band and PLA Advisory Chair Andrew Smith, provided feedback and evidence into the process and way forward for the distribution of grant funding. President Paul Jane said "The allocation of funds based on the Minister's whims is a fundamental breech of trust with the Australian community and diminishes our faith in government and tarnishes community sport. If the Minister or party have other criteria that they wish to grant funds against this should be transparent and not hidden under a minister's discretion clause."
