PLA Membership Terms and Conditions

PLA members are required to indicate their acceptance of all terms and conditions of membership. New applications and renewals will not be processed until confirmation is received.

1. Payment

New memberships - PLA membership fees are due 30 days from the date of invoice.

Membership renewals - An invoice will be sent to you on your membership renewal date which is payable with 30 day payment terms.

If a member does not pay their membership fees they will cease to be a PLA member. If any membership benefits have been accessed during the period between joining and when the membership is cancelled, then an invoice will be issued to cover the cost of these benefits.

Changes to membership fees will only be made at the time of annual renewal of your membership.

2. Membership activation

For new members signing up, your membership will be activated once you have paid your invoice. If you would like to receive benefits immediately at the time of joining, you will be required to pay by credit card upon registration of your membership.

For existing members, your membership will continue to remain active at the time renewal. However, if your membership is not paid within the payment terms your membership may be deactivated until payment is received.

Membership is for one (1) year or in the case of new memberships until 1st July and then renewed annually. All membership fees must be paid in advance.

3. Renewal

You must notify PLA National Office prior to your renewal date should you not wish to renew.

4. Cancellation/refund policy

5. Transfer of membership

PLA has provided me a wealth of opportunities to meet and collaborate with other open space and recreation professionals eager to share their knowledge and has also allowed me to share my ideas in a cooperative and safe environment.

Louise, Consultant

It's important to keep up with new technology and techniques in managing Parks & Open Spaces and hear from industry leading operators about how we can do things more environmentally friendly and effectively. I also enjoy the networking and meeting people from the different organisations. It keeps me fresh and motivated to improve things.

Jason, Manager, Hume City Council

I have found the seminars and conferences run by PLA have provided a vehicle to create friendships and professional affiliations amongst the membership from as close as the adjoining council to as far away as interstate and overseas.
