2020 Dion Gosling, Principal Architect, Director 106 ArchitectsDion created an event to be delivered during the 2020 NGV Melbourne Design Week. The discussion panel event was titled 'The influence of design - transforming an everyday public space into a thriving third place' and investigated how design might transform and shape life with the future development of community facilities. The panel included a creative mix of professionals sharing their thoughts, and building on each other's perspectives during the discussion. |

Alister Clark, Bushland Projects, City of HobartAlister attended the International Trails Symposium in Syracuse NY in May 2019. The biennial Symposium is the only international gathering of trail enthusiasts and professionals representing all types of trail users. Following the Symposium he visited key tracks and trails (mountain bike, walking, multi-use, all access, fire trails etc.), viewed the construction context and methods, and met relevant experts in Canada and the USA. Susan Hecker, Manager Parks and Urban Development, City of WhittleseaInspired by the 2018 World Urban Parks Congress held in Melbourne, Susan was looking for new ways of thinking about the planning, activation and sustainability of parks by collaborating with and learning from practitioners both inside and outside of the parks and leisure industry. She travelled to France and Belgium and met with a range of professionals who program and manage their parks to address the challenge of population growth and a changing climate. She also attended the 2019 Nature of Cities Summit in Paris to further expand strategic thinking for the future of our Cities' parks. |
