Key Responsibilities

The Recreation Projects and Planning Officer is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the capital program for recreation and leisure. The position is responsible for directly managing minor capital / strategic projects, providing support to deliver recreation and leisure-based major capital projects and for undertaking relevant planning to ensure projects are ready for delivery.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Qualifications in leisure, recreation (or a related discipline) or equivalent or several years of relevant experience in supporting the delivery of capital projects and recreation planning projects.
  • Experience in managing and supporting the delivery of capital projects within a Local Government, community and/or recreation/leisure context.
  • An understanding of community sport and recreation needs, trends and issues.
  • High level written skills with the ability to produce briefing reports, funding applications, business cases and other written documentation.
  • Well-developed time management skills including the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work within tight timelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to gain the cooperation of a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
