The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated individual to join the Recreation and Youth Department as the Recreation Planner. We are looking for someone who has well established project management and communication skills, is hard working and thrives in a busy environment.

  • The position reports to the Recreation Development Coordinator
  • Stakeholders include community groups, contractors, funding bodies and residents
  • The position will plan for and provide advice on the provision of sport and recreation infrastructure and services for the Melton community.

Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and policies relating to sport and active recreation for the Melton community. The position will provide policy advice, and strategic direction on matters relating to sport and recreation participation and infrastructure planning throughout the City of Melton.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Qualifications in Recreation/Leisure Planning (or related discipline) or equivalent or several years of relevant experience in a related field.
  • Experience in in developing, implementing and reviewing strategic plans and policies.
  • A demonstrated understanding of community sport and recreation needs, trends and issues.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to gain the cooperation of a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
