Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Community and Recreation Assets team as the Community and Recreation Planning Officer. You will have an active role in planning, managing and delivering Council’s community and recreation assets including parks, playgrounds, sportsgrounds, pools, boat ramps, skate parks and community buildings.

You will join a dynamic team to assist the Senior Community and Recreation Planning Officer in the development and implementation of strategies, plans and policies relevant to community and recreation assets, with a particular focus on updating Council's plans of management for public land. You will be tasked with managing consultant contracts, developing project initiation documents, drafting reports, overseeing capital projects, developing grant applications  and engaging with community stakeholders. The role will also require you to balance administrative tasks in the office with community engagement and inspections out in the field. 

What you need:

  • Tertiary qualification in urban design, recreation planning, asset management, strategic planning, town planning, landscape architecture or sound experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing plans of management or knowledge of managing public land in NSW.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing planning strategies, master plans, operational strategies and/or overseeing capital works projects.
  •  Demonstrated ability to express own views, persevere through challenges, and be flexible and willing to change.
  • Be a respectful, inclusive and reliable team member, collaborate with others, and value diversity.
  • Achieve results through efficient use of resources and a commitment to quality outcomes.

Total Remuneration Package Range: $85,212.68 - $106,541.25 (includes 9.5% superannuation + retention and motor vehicle allowances) + flexi-time
