Do you have a passion to improve open space and active transport outcomes, contribute to placemaking, health and well-being, and promote participation in a diverse range of recreational activities for a fast-growing and culturally diverse community?

This position leads and supports a team of staff focused on the planning, development and delivery of open space throughout Hume City Council. The successful candidate will have strong leadership abilities and previous experience working in the development and implementation of plans or processes to improve open space and recreation service delivery, and experience developing strategic open space plans.

You'll be responsible for a fast-growing team and a four-year capital program worth in excess of $13M.

Key Skills

  • Extensive experience in the preparation, implementation and review of open space and recreation planning strategies and projects
  • Highly developed project planning and management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish networks and consult and liaise effectively with external agencies, stakeholders, Council and the community
  • Proven ability to effectively, lead, supervise, and develop teams
