Happy New Year!

I hope you all have had a relaxing break over the festive period and feeling refreshed and energised as we look forward to a great year ahead.

As many of you have or may be returning to the office, there is an air of positivity and optimism for 2022 and it is encouraging to see our great nation continuing to get on with life whilst embracing current changes. 

Our fantastic industry continues to shine, and I am looking forward to what we have in store this year including Parks Week 2022, region conferences and the 2022 Awards of Excellence, nominations for which are now open, plus more to be revealed soon!

Here at National Office, we are planning for our National Conference which will be held at Centrepiece at Melbourne Park, 16-19 October 2022 and will a great way for us all to reconnect in a safe and enjoyable manner and do what we as parks and leisure professionals love to do, share our experiences, work, projects and the ideas that make our communities great places to live.

Continue to stay safe and I wish each and every one of you a happy and successful 2022.

With the continually changing world we live in; Parks and Leisure Australia is pivoting to bring you an exciting program of webinars and online events for the remainder of the year. The Parks and Leisure Australia 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held Wednesday 19 January 2022.

As we start the new year, we are looking at ways that we can make the membership work for you and your organisation as well as the industry.

Why sign-up for the program? The Certified Parks and Leisure Professional (CPLP) qualification is the only Australian national benchmark for industry professionals.

To be eligible for the CPLP program you must be a member of PLA.

Entries for Parks Week 2022 is now open! Park Week is a time to celebrate the vital role parks play in our communities and will focus on the how spending time in our parks and open spaces positively influences our wellbeing

We are inviting entries for events which can range from a variety of programs, event and digital experiences or even special themed days during the week to highlight the different ways everyone can enjoy our parks and open spaces.
