The recent 2021-2022 Federal Budget announcement provides opportunity for improved and expanded mental health with a $2.3 billion package as well as significant funds towards infrastructure and sport, supporting PLA's vision to provide the foundation for healthy communities and liveable towns and cities.

PLA is supportive of our members who provide and manage recreation facilities, programs and services for the community. We advocate and encourage first-class planning, design, and management of public spaces and places which promote and enhance the physical and mental health of Australians.

Our industry works tirelessly to ensure open spaces which will benefit communities, and how fitting to see 91-year old Doug Crowell from NSW enjoying his local recreation facilities with the Veterans Cricket Association. Check out the ABC video here.

This is a true testament to PLA's vison for Australia to be the most liveable country in the world, renowned for its parks, sport and recreation facilities, providing the foundation for healthy communities and liveable towns and cities.
