I hope this email finds all of the PLA QLD community well and looking forward to an exciting year ahead, but also aware a number of our members and communities continue to work through a challenging start to 2020. Feel free to contact me if you have a cause you are seeking support for that I can share on our social media for you to show our support.
PLA QLD STATE CONFERENCE 2020 - FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
The team are busy planning our 2020 State Conference, which I am pleased to announce will be hosted in Brisbane in May. Watch this space as over the next few weeks, we will be announcing the date, venue, delegate packages, and how you can get involved, but most importantly share our exciting list of speakers and partners. Feel free to reach out if you've got some great ideas of things you'd love to see this year or have capacity to help out - we are always on the look out for fresh ideas and volunteers to help with the behind the scenes.
Climate change is an increasingly important topic for our industry and us as a community, and the impacts climate events has on our roles as 'the people behind the places'. The aim of this years conference is deliver an innovative conference which brings together a range of industry partners, allowing the parks, leisure, sport and place sectors to collaborate now and in to the future to share ideas on how best to respond to climate challenges. The conference will have a renewed format from previous years, with keynotes, panels, Q & A session, and lots of networking opportunities, with a focus on collaboration across our amazingly diverse and talented industry groups.
We would love to get our PLA QLD community involved with this event, and If you would like to be volunteer or provide specialist input we are looking for some superstars to assist in the following areas, which include but not limited to:
- Graphic Design / Marketing
- Sponsorship
- Social Media
- Speaker Recruitment
- General Conference Volunteers during the event
We appreciate your time is valuable, so happy for people to propose joint roles and will offer all volunteers a free pass to the conference. If you are interested please reach out directly to our EO Adam - plaqld@parksleisure.com.au by 7 February 2020 with a brief summary of your experience in the above areas, and how you wish to support. Much of the conference can be organised remotely, so we encourage those in regional areas to reach out also please, so location is no barrier!
Marke Jennings from SportEng and PLA QLD Council will be chairing this committee with the EO, and we can not wait to get more of the PLA QLD community on board.
