Guidelines
PLA WA commissioned the first stage of its community facilities guidelines project in 2010-11. The objective of the overall project is to develop guidelines for a range of different sized communities with different characteristics, and including examples of community facility
Stage One of the project has dealt with a global literature review of similar policy apporaches and identifed a range of guidelines in existence elsewhere in the world.
Stage Two has taken this information and developed, in tabular form, the PLA WA recommended and endorsed provisions for a range of over forty different community facilities and infrastructure needed to contribute to any community's sustainability.

Ultimately, PLA WA hopes to have a 'ready reckoner' to assist professionals involved in the planning, recreation, parks and community development sectors to determine the likely needs of a given community and the planned future needs in realtion to expected growth.
